If you have already travelled through Slovenia, you have most likely visited Bled, one of the most famous destinations in Alpine Slovenia.
Bled is famous for being the sole Slovenian island in the middle of the lake of the same name. Visitors typically reach it by a special boat called pletna, operated by locals. On the island, there is a church where you can ring a bell for good fortune.
Bled also offers plenty of hiking and running routes and opportunities for diving or rowing. From Bled, you can climb surrounding mountains such as Osojnica, Mala Ojstrica and Velika Ojstrica. While you’re there, visit Vintgar Gorge, from where you can enter the magical world of Triglav National Park.
