When did you start running and why?
My running experience was started when I was 16, twenty years ago. I started because I’ve like it and I still keep progres in my results. Once when I tried trail running I loved it so much and it doesn’t change until now
The most beautiful / fun running memory / experience…
World Championship in long distance trail running was in Podbrdo, Slovenia in 2016. I took there 7th place – the best score in my running career. I have only good memories from there, I met there very kind people, and I am happy that I will come to Slovenia again.
How do you train, do you have a training system?
I’ve been a coach myself for most of my career. Of course I had a period when I worked with trainer who took care about my devolopment. In meantime I’ve improved my own training method which I present in my book »Time for ultra«. My training method is based on my 20 years old experience and knowledge I gained during l was studying physical education. But I still develop my knowledge and education as a pro runner and trainer, so maybe will be second edition of my book.
The ideal running distance?
I feel good running between 50 km and 100 km. Eveything above 100km – I go into unknown, but it is exceted
The ideal day to run is (where, with whom, how)?
My ideal day to run is being alone on long distance running trip in a mountain in the nature
The ideal day when you’re not running is?
Mostly I go for a walk or ride a bycycle with my family. We spend our time active. But sometimes we are going for good dessert
What would I do if you weren’t a runner?
Hmmm tough question – I don’t look back, I am focus on a future.
I was runner, I am runner and I will be runner
Favourite literature / film about running, training, nutrition, philosophy,…
I have two favourite books about running:
»Daniels’ Running Formula« by Jack Daniels,
»Winning: The Unforgiving Race to Greatness« by Tim Grover
